Church Organization

Tyler Christian Fellowship is a non-denominational, elder-led expression of the body of Christ in Tyler, Texas. As such, we are independent of any larger religious governmental structure. And although we are not controlled by any other religious organization, we are obligated by God to participate in His work through the church universal under the direction of local leadership.

We follow the New Testament pattern of allowing the Holy Spirit to identify and confirm Godly men whom he has appointed for the office and work of Elder.

These men, we believe, are responsible to God to rule over TCF as overseerers.

They are expected to encourage our spiritual growth through the teaching and preaching of God’s word.

They are to seek God’s insight and make decisions about the application of God’s eternal principles for our present condition in harmony with His revealed will in the Bible.

They are to lead by example and not with a heavy hand.

They are to welcome, love, intercede for and lay hands on the sick and the healthy for strength, repentance, healing and renewal.

In addition, the various ministries of TCF are facilitated by deacons who have demonstrated a spirit-filled life of humility, service and Godly conduct.

They have been appointed by our elders and are given responsibility over an area of practical ministry where God has given them a special gifting.
